Our take on Yelp's "filtered" review policy
You may not be aware, but Yelp, might not be giving you the full story on MacMedics when you look up our reviews on Yelp.
Overly complimentary fake reviews from business owners trying to game the system are a big problem for Yelp. To combat that, Yelp uses their own filtering system to weed out reviews that have less credibility, or fail to make the grade for whatever reason.
The sad part of the Yelp review system is that they often knock off perfectly credible AND real reviews from real Yelp reviewers. You can tell they are real because most Yelp reviewers will have multiple reviews for different types of businesses.
[2/1/14 UPDATE this super negative review still appears within Yelp, but the one review that is currently showing is a positive one, so we at least have a "GOOD" rating as of this writing.]
For months Yelp had been showing just one negative review on MacMedics. Sadly for us, this review is the worst review that we have ever received, and we’ve responded to the review on Yelp to tell our side of the story.
Here’s our problem with Yelp.
1. The review (the really bad one) was the only review “showing” on Yelp is a "One Star" review. The fact that we have over 40 "Five Star" reviews is not taken into account when our Yelp listing is displayed to you or the rest of the world. Because of this fact, everyone (including the search engine previews) show just One Star for MacMedics, when in fact our actual rating should be Five Star (or at least 4.9). (As of this writing there is still only one review showing.)
See below example:
2. The other issue we have with Yelp, is the negative review that used to show as our ONLY Yelp listing is a fairly recent review, and the reviewer is shown with the Yelp badge “First to Review”, when in fact they were not the first Yelp user to review MacMedics. This makes the listing look even worse, as it totally disregards the large portion of our reviews from the last several years of reviews.
Yelp says, "Business owners should probably focus less on any one review and more on their entire body of reviews". I could not agree more, and I would like a fair representation of all of MacMedics reviews shown on Yelp.
I feel that posting all of the Yelp reviews on the MacMedics website is somewhat self serving, but at this point we really have no choice. Yelp has had months to respond to my inquires and their “filter” system has also had pleanty of time to adjust and show a fair sampling of the reviews that have been written about MacMedics.
You can read my three letters to Yelp, and their "canned" response they sent me here.
You can also read the comments on Yelp's own page, where the details of the extortion of business owners has happened over and over. Yelp will filter all of your positive reviews and only show the negative ones. I'm assuming based on what I've read that the goal here is for you to pay Yelp $400 or so a month and they will then show "some" of your positive reviews.
The list of reviews that appear below are ALL of the “filtered” reviews that are currently posted for the MacMedics Baltimore location.

MacMedics is a local computer business who is home-based in Millersville, MD. If you are in need of a new Apple product, they have it and there are no lines like the Apple stores in the malls. You experience a problem with an Apple product, they can fix it faster than going to the Apple store and you don't have to make an appointment 3-days in advance and wait in a hot, crowded, store.
Mac Medics is your place for Apple products.

I needed a warranty repair done on my MacBook and didn't feel like going to the Apple store in Annapolis (I HATE going there for anything but window shopping). They told me my repair was considered "damage" according to Apple (I.e. not covered under warranty), but would try to get it covered because there was clearly no damage. They contacted Apple and got my repair approved, ordered the part, and repaired - ready for pickup less than 24 hours later. Dana stayed in contact with me the entire time giving updates as they were available. The tech who repaired my MacBook did a pristine job. My MacBook is one of my most prized and valuable possessions and I would trust these guys with any repair or upgrade I needed.

This place was great, the employees were all very helpful and kind, and went over and above what was expected. My computer died on me, and they were able to salvage the hard drive, back it up on an external drive, and lend me a computer for a week... all within the span of about 4 hours. I needed to have all this done because I was traveling for work the next day. The price was reasonable, and the owner, Dana, actually stayed a solid 2 1/2 hours past their closing time to wait with me as the external drive was backed up. He's a very smart man, kind and considerate, and I will recommend this place to anyone who ever has any issues with their apple products.
Thanks a ton Dana, you rock!

I called the day prior to my visit and left message. My telephone call was promptly returned in a short time period. I was having a problem with my MacBook with it not powering up or charging properly and was told to stop by during office hours. when I got to the store I was featured with a smile and told a technician works come out and help me and with seconds a representative by the name of Chris came out to assist me.
Chris quickly diagnosedthe problem I was having and fixed it immediately. He then took the time to show me a few things about Apple technology that I was not even aware of.
These guys are the next best thing to going to a Apple store which I'm sure had I went I'd still be waiting for my computer instead of writing this review right now. two thumbs up!

We had a severe thunderstorm over the weekend and our ethernet port / network card on our iMac got fried. Dana at MacMedics informed me that we could go about fixing the problem one of two ways; we could replace the logic board that would be about a $700 repair, or we could use a USB ethernet adapter to bypass the problem that was a $30 fix. I want to thank Dana at MacMedics for his honest service. MacMedics saved me over $600 and my iMac was up and running in no time.

Why go to MacMedics? Because it makes sense. Dana, Brandon, and Chris were very informative throughout. I had actually been e-mailing them questions for the past 9 months and finally made the time to get my wife’s G5 there for a data transfer to a mac mini. All of us have been in that situation where you have YEARS of pictures, music, files, etc. on a computer and then..... The personal touch is often lost in the big retailers and MacMedics is a breath of fresh air. I work with 180+ employees and I can assure you this is the place I'll be recommending for service of any Apple products. Thanks guys.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mac Medics. Mac Medics has supplied quality care for my family and business computers for over 6 years. I changed to Mac servers at work last year and have not looked back. WOW! So much more simple. My only regret is that I didn't go "more Apple" and with Mac Medics sooner. Other than knowing Dana socially a bit, and using his company for my Mac-related needs, I have no personal or financial relationship to Mac Medics.
8/16/2012 Laurie H. Annapolis, MD 5 Stars
I have been working with MacMedics for about ten years. I have used them for work and personal computer issues. They have been frank, and honest, telling me when something has reached the end of its useful life, and when a software/hardware fix could give me an extra two years or so. They gave me suggestions on how to configure new computers to deal with my specific needs. Their advice is spot-on, communication excellent. I have dropped off computers at the facility, and also had site visits for new computer setup and network issues. Each time the technical professional has been polite and knowledgeable. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. Dana Stibolt runs an excellent company. I trust them, and respect their expertise.

Mac Medics to the rescue!
Last week one of my external hard drive failed to mount for no reason. I contacted the drive's customer IT support and they said the drive probably went bad (even though it was only 5 months old) and because it was a RAID drive which was set up as RAID 0 I probably lost ALL my data and there was no way to recover it. In desperation, I scoured the web for hours reading forums on the issue. I almost sent the drive to a very expensive data recovery site in California until I started to google local options - finally I found Mac Medics! The cost of data recovery at Mac Medics was a flat fee of $199 (no matter how much data needed to be recovered). Chris at Mac Medics did a wonderful job keeping me informed of the job status. When he called me to tell me he was able to recover all the data from my drive, even back it up and created a duplicate folder which was more organized according to file type, I was so elated! I had to pull over to do a happy dance. All the information on the drive was irreplaceable so they really rescued me and my data! I would highly recommend them for any situation that involves external hard drive failures. Thanks MacMedics!

As a freelance writer and editor, my MacBook Pro is just about my whole office so I am extremely hesitant to take it in for any kind of service and become more than a little unhappy if it is gone very long. That explains why I waited until recently to upgrade the operating system and ignored the broken CD/DVD drive. But when programs stopped working correctly and I could no longer back up to MobileMe, I knew the time had come. I took it to MacMedics in Millersville, Md., and the people there recommended a new operating system, new hard drive, and an external hard drive. That all sounded great and I asked them to install the new Office suite as well. I also said they didn't have to fix the CD/DVD drive. Forty-eight hours later, everything was done and tested to make sure it worked. When I picked up the laptop, they patiently answered all my questions, let me turn on the laptop and check out the new operating system, and told me they had put in a new CD/DVD drive. I was delighted, but still apprehensive that I would get home and find bugs because that's often happened with other computer repairs/maintenance. Two and a half days later, I'm happy to report that everything is perfect and works the way the MacMedics folks told me it would. I could not be happier! I also appreciate that everyone I dealt with there, including someone I talked to in the Virginia office, was happy to talk over everything and make recommendations. It's great to know I have a computer repair/maintenance resource I can count on.

Quality of work and convenience is greatI have had several of my Mac's serviced at MacMedics and I can say that the service and convenience is second to none. They understood my issues and resolved them quickly. There trouble-shooting skills are great. They replaced hard drives and graphics cards and also set us up with some backup software to automatically back up all of our hard drive to a second drive in case the first drive fails. I would recommend them to anyone who needs service on their Mac's.

I just did two transactions with MacMedics and I felt compelled to come on here and wrote a review because I was so satisfied. I can't believe the other review is so negative because my interaction and experience with them- notably Dana- was nothing less than superb. I'm not sure what the miscommunication could have been but there are two sides to every story! Here was my experience in a nutshell- I made the HUGE mistake of buying a used MacBook from a college kid off of Craigslist. Pause for horrified looks. I know but I am going back in grad school full time and was looking to save some cash. I should have gone to MacMedics to start with so what happened could have been avoided. The laptop that I purchased from this Craigslist person seemed to function fine for about a week. I did notice a humming noise that would get loud at times but no problems with machine. The noise did alarm me a little so I decided to take the MacBook into my local Apple store a few days after purchase to get a diagnostics test done.
They checked it out and said it was fine- might need a new battery soon but that was all. However, after about a week of normal use, the sound became louder and the laptop began to intermittently shut off and on. So, I took it back and Apple geniuses looked at it again. This was my second trip into the Apple mecca and I needed answers. I was assisted by a different "genius" this time that had different answers this time around. I had to leave the laptop with them for a day so they could open it up and run more tests. The verdict was tier four repair that would run me 750 dollars. Apparently, the college kid had opened the laptop up and tinkered with the internal components rendering some parts of the machine damaged. They think he did this while trying to switch out the hard drive. So, for 750 they could fix everything wrong with it. I wanted specific answers as to what was wrong with it. Does it need a fan? Does it need a new CPU? They could not give me definite answers and just said it failed so many diagnostic tests that they were classifying it a tier four repair and it was a flat 750-dollar repair. They said they are not the actual tech specialists who do the repairs- they just diagnose and run the tests. Okay, so now I was upset and confused. I drove to the next nearest Apple store to see if they could be any more helpful. This store was in Towson. They ended up keeping my Mac for five days just to triage it and diagnose it. They came back with a diagnosis of water damage and thats all they could tell me. They also said level four repair for 750 but could not tell me what exactly the computer needed to get it functional again just like the other store. The repairs would have a 90-day warranty and thats it. I was about ready to just spend the 1100 and buy a new MAC Pro that the geniuses were pushing me to do (and give up on my Craigslist purchase as a costly mistake) when I decided as a last ditch effort to get one last opinion. Thank God I found Dana and MacMedics. From the moment I stepped in that door, I knew he was going to get some answers for me and I could tell he takes pride in his business and work. He did not find any water damage in my laptop and said the repairs would be quite simple- a new fan to prevent overheating and new RAM. Saving me hundreds in comparison to what APPLE wanted. I also ended up buying another laptop from him that they refurbished and am extremely pleased with it. I would put my neck on the line to recommend them. Very honest small business that takes pride in what they do. Thank you so much!

I was referred to MacMedics by the Apple store in Annapolis. Turns out it was a very good referral. I had 10 yr.-old G4 that died -- no backup, PPC chip, and 10.4 -- and needed to pull my old data off the G4 and transfer to something better. I ended up buying a refurbished G5 iMac from them and they did the data recovery / transfer, all for a very reasonable price. I ended up buying a couple of accessories, too. I now have an Intel-powered machine that can run the latest software, is much faster than my old G4, has more disc capacity, and comes with a one-year warranty. Bottom line: professional folks; I'd recommend them highly. --LJ (Gambrills)

I was recommended to MacMedics through my tech-savvy friends and was incredibly impressed by the entire experience! The owner, Dana, kept in contact with me constantly through the process and was an absolute joy to work with. If I could give them six stars - I would! Wonderful experience!

MacMedics is definitely worth the drive (and they're open Saturday mornings for drop off/pick up!). I have used MacMedics for years, and am always impressed by how professional and thorough they are--this business is run the way a business should be run. Most recently I brought my broken (older) laptop in, not sure if it was worth it to fix the broken clamshell cover. I brought it on a Friday afternoon and on Monday they called to say they could repair it with used parts if I'd like. That was perfect--I didn't have to sink a lot of money into it. It was ready right away; I picked it up and it looks great and works perfectly. I have gone to other Mac repair places that take up to a week just to look at the machine, and never call me back when I call to check the status. Other places may have to send it somewhere for repair. MacMedics has always stayed in good contact and repaired things really quickly. I wish all businesses were run so well.

My Mac OS X hard drive crashed after about 3 years' service; alas, I didn't have a backup system and thus sought to recover my data from the old hard drive. MacMedics came through for me, recovering all of my data, pix, iTunes etc., and also set me up with a neat backup system --- ALL AT AN EXTREMELY REASONABLE COST. I was delighted, to say the least!

I'm sorry the other reviewer had such a bad experience. However I have NEVER had a bad experience with MacMedics. I have been using them for years and they were the only people our graphic designer friend would trust near his Mac and his data. They have rescued me (my desktop or laptop) many times. They give wonderful suggestions--and not to just buy a new whatever--and they did a refund for the time my dropped iMac really was beyond saving. I could buy with Educator discount but prefer to instead buy from MacMedics. Unlike making me deal with the mob and the screaming kids beating on computers in the Apple Store, the MacMedics staff aren't pretentious enough to have a "Genius Bar". I really don't enjoy feeling like a super dummy having to ask a bored, Gen Y'er, a question only to be answered in some type of geek-speak. I'm happy the Apple Store is in our Mall but delighted when I have MacMedics as a wonderful alternative to going to the Apple Store. MacMedics also talks directly to me, one-on-one. I don't have to perch on a stool to hear a canned training and be frustrated with the diversity of users perched around me. Could be another generational issue for me but as I walk to the rear of the Apple Store it seems to get louder and darker. I always want to take my receipt and rush out for some fresh air. Granted my GPS typically gets me a bit lost in the Millersville office park but I love being able to pull up to the door to drop off or pick up. I know the names of most of the Millersville staff. Really comforting when I'm having a tech crisis. Dr. C- Columbia, MD

I went into Mac Medics, needing the password to my Mac Book Pro reset as well as new screws that holds the bottom of my laptop on. I had my hard drive replaced at a Mac store in another state and they returned my computer to me without the screws! I walked into Mac Medics and ten minutes later, they returned my computer to me and I was out the door with a new password and a whole computer....FOR NO CHARGE. Not to mention they were incredibly nice and professional. I highly recommend going to them for all of you Mac needs.

I have been a customer of Mac Medics for a long time. It seems that whenever I run into a jam, be it a crash of a hard drive or something less urgent such as a problem with my iPhoto library, mac medics has come through with flying colors! They are professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They calmly determine what the problem is and offer solutions to fix it. Last week I raced to mac medics with my back up drive, which I thought, might be compromised because of a power surge. I was going to arrive after closing time, and after calling Dana Stibolt; he assured me that he would wait for me because he understood the urgency of the situation. He quickly determined what the problem was and offered an inexpensive solution for the problem. I trust mac medics with all of my Apple needs. They have consistently performed well beyond my expectations. You can count on them.

MacMedics saved me. My daughter's laptop with all her college applications and essays was hit by a hot chocolate spill on Christmas Eve. I was instructed by staff that I should bring the computer the day after Christmas and they were able to retrieve the data from the hard drive. She was able to submit her applications for college with one day to spare. They were prompt, reassuring, and gave excellent service and advice.

I have had two repairs done in the last couple of years at Mac Medics in Millersville. The first was for my laptop in which the owner personally helped me upgrades some of the insides of my computer rather than spend a bundle on a new computer. They even backed up my data on an external drive for me! Great service, great turn around time and very fair prices. Thanks!

My name is George and my Mac G4 17" laptop died on Saturday (02/19/11). I took it to the Apple store in Columbia Mall on Sunday and after their diagnostic service, they indicated that they could not either determine the problem or repair my laptop because it was obsolete. However, the best thing that they did do was to was recommend MacMedics, to me. On Monday, I called MacMedics and they asked me if I could bring my laptop in that day. Within two hours they had provided me a quote to repair my unit, but they recommended that I should replace it, if possible. Because of the used and reconditioned units that MacMedics has in stock, I was able to upgrade to a Mac Pro - 17" within the timeframe and at a price that was within my budget. On Tuesday (02/22/11) MacMedics (Matthew) had that unit ready for pick up with all of my data transferred from my old laptop and ready for use. Great response, great service and great price. Thanks,George F.

Since most people scroll thru these reviews I'm going to keep it very real. My name is Jason, I'm a career DJ, and about 3 1/2 years ago I switched into the Mac Realm and have never looked back. As stable as the platform is like anything they need a tune up from time to time or an upgrade. I think of it like this... "If it's not broken don't fix it" and now when it comes to that mantra I add on and say, "If it's not broken. Dont fix it... upgrade. and take it to MacMedics" and I mean it. Do they charge top dollar? Yes. Yet, it's top-notch service PERIOD! You spent all this money on Mac technology and now you're going to even think about going with something less than the BEST? Makes no sense. That's my review and you can quote me and all my boys on it.

To MacMedics: These guys are seriously like under cover angels. One time I left my iPhone on the roof of my car and it flew off going 55 mph. These guys were able to salvage my phone and it was completely affordable. They did it fast too. Recently my friend's hard drive failed. She and I both are photographers and our hard drives are everything. They could tell we were both very upset and despite it being an incredibly difficult fix that would normally be around $400 they agreed to try and figure something out and try and help us the best they could for a much more affordable price. To quote them "lets put our hearts and our minds into this and do our best."They really are amazing guys and they will ALWAYS get my business and I will always take my fellow mac users there.

I showed up at MacMedics with the worst-case scenario - years of (yet to be published) dissertation data on my MacBook Pro, which I had not dutifully backed up recently enough, and my hard drive was swimming due to a spilled drink into the keyboard. Within 4 days, MacMedics saved my computer, all of my data, and replaced my hard drive. I have learned my lesson and am backing up my data as I type! MacMedics was amazing, keeping me informed on a daily, if not twice daily basis, and saved my data and MacBook. I would go NOWHERE else for any Apple services!
1/5/11 Dave S. Baltimore, MD 5 Stars I had a few issues with my Mac the past years. Instead of waiting to be served at the local Apple store by their "Geniuses" I was referred to Mac Medics. That was the best advice anyone gave me. It was simple, walk through the door and tell them the issue then come back and pick up my Mac. It doesn't get easier than that! I am in the printing industry and Macs are a major part of our everyday business. Mac Medics understands that and gets the job done right and in a timely fashion. Dana and his staff are courteous and extremely knowledgeable of all Apple products. If you're using a Mac and not using Mac Medics, you don't know what you're missing.

Best referral we ever received. Excellent service and very good price. They changed only the screen not the entire cover.... while at the Apple store they replace the entire cover; hence almost double the price of repair. They also provided excellent advice over the phone for minor problems. Last time our old G4 seemed to have a panic attack, all icons were blinking. After the Apple store told us they do not support G4s any more, (too old....) we returned to Mac Medics. While we waited for the diagnostic, it was quiet and calm, far from the hustle and bustle and the noise of the Apple store, plus we were offered a nice, cool bottle of water, just what we needed. The diagnostic came... it was just a faulty keyboard...... We highly recommend Mac Medics and we plan to use other services they offer such as training and even buy our new Mac when that time will come.

I used to work for MacMedics, so I don't know if that makes this review more positive or suspect, but I know that Dana's biggest concern is to make sure that his customers are taken care of and if they ever need Macintosh service or advice in the future that they don't think of going anywhere else. After leaving MacMedics, I became a full-time photographer and have continued to use Macs in my day-to-day work life. Even after relocating across the country to San Diego, I still contact Dana and the crew at MacMedics when I have problems, or am looking for hardware advice. I still receive the MacMedics InfoSource newsletter, which is a great source of Mac, related news as well as helpful information that their technicians have experienced in the field. If you're in the Maryland, DC or Philadelphia area, look up MacMedics ... your Mac will be well taken care of!

I just want to express my appreciation for your stellar work over the years. I have been a Mac user professionally for about 15 years now, and during that time, have had more than one emergency, not to mention, requirements for upgrades and servicing. I have used services in Europe and Asia, in addition to Apple's own servicing center in the USA, yet Mac Medics is my preferred site for servicing and repair for several reasons. First is the personal touch. I come in, I am greeted by name, my records are there, and irrespective of the nature of the visit, am always made to feel that my needs matter; whether the job is for my work or my kid's iPod. Second is the depth of knowledge of the team. More than once, I have requested something specifically, only to have the Mac Medics team suggest something that turned out to be a better option, and often less expensive. When I have gone out and sought a second opinion, I have invariably found that the advice was exactly right. Third is the straightforwardness and transparency of the work. When I drop off my machine, I get a call back that lays out the findings, the options, the cost and the estimated time to completion, and that is exactly what transpires; no hidden costs at pick up time. Fourth is the thoroughness of the work. In 2008, my 17" MBP's motherboard died. I received a call back on the repair work, and a Mac Medics staff member asked if the machine had been exposed to smoke, as this might be related to its current status. I had forgot that about 18 months prior, I had had one of the infamous Sony exploding batteries, and there was smoke associated with the event. Mac Medics suggested that, although they could do the necessary repair, I should talk to Apple, which I did and they (Apple) effectively replaced the entire machine (except the keyboard). Mac Medics' approach demonstrated both thoroughness and integrity. Then, there is the speed. The rate-limiting step to any job I have requested is getting a part onsite. The turnaround time for even the most difficult jobs is brisk, which underscores that my time is valuable as well. More than anything else, however, is trust. I appreciate that Mac Medics is authorized to service Apple products, stands by their work, and will re-service a job if it remains under warranty. I highly recommend Mac Medics for both professional and consumer servicing needs. 12/22/10 Phil S. Crofton, MD 5 Stars MacMedics is the best place to go to with any issue with your Mac. Personal customer service and knowledgeable staff equates to a much better experience than any Apple store or other repair place. They spent extra time to make sure I understood the repair and how to take care of the issue in the future. This is all without "signing in" and waiting for 30-40 min at the Apple Store.

Impeccable service! Knowledgeable staff! Informative web-site. They took very good care of me. My iPod Classic would not recognize any power source and would not charge. I dropped my iPod off at the Millersville facility on a Monday afternoon. The check-in process was efficient and the staff friendly. I explained the problem to the technician and after brief examination she informed me that the charging connector looked damaged which required replacing the logic board. She then explained the service process, gave me price quotes (which were very reasonable) and sited a 24-hour turn-around. They offer the choice of being contacted by phone or email. The next day a technician (Reese) followed up as promised and went over the results of the diagnostics. As it turned out, my hard drive was also damaged and I needed data recovery. All said and done, it wasn't feasible to undergo the repairs. Reese pointed me to a refurbished unit with similar specs as mine for less than what I'd have paid to repair and recover my data. I'm impressed and very pleased with MacMedics. One thing to note: they only do out of warranty iPod service. This is noted on the Check-in Form. I will always use them for my Apple repairs and I highly recommend them.

I was sold on MacMedics years ago when I called to ask about service and got 10 minutes of spot-on technical support, at no charge, from Dana (the owner), which solved my problem over the phone. In response to my incredulity he said simply that that's his business model - support people with competence and you'll earn their respect/business when they need you. This past week I had my 3rd experience bringing a Mac in for service. They diagnosed a tricky hardware problem quickly and accurately, leaving me phone messages every step of the way keeping me appraised of progress. When I picked up the repaired machine, Dana asked me a few questions about how I used it and offered several suggestions for how to keep it running more smoothly, ways to be more skillful about backups, etc. Like the previous reviewer, I'll never take my computer anywhere else for service/repair.

They fixed my 2007 Aluminum iMac... troubleshoot it as a bad video card. Seems they got it right the first time. I would go to MacMedics again. Probably before I use the apple store... I had it to the apple store first, who did not fix the problem because they could not recreate it... MacMedics recreated it, and they fixed it. First time.

MacMedics is like Mac Batman...all I have to do is shine my "apple symbol" in the sky and they fly in to save the day. They are amazing, and for an all Mac completely digital office, they have always been very patient & kind to all of our staff & nothing less than professional when they are in our office while our doctors are with patients. If there is any mac need, no matter what the software program you are using. Mac Medics is the only choice for support. The staff @ MacMedics work well together as a team and when my tech is out saving the day for another client, I am directed to another technician who is more than pleased to help me trouble shoot. I am so pleased with the service and care provided by MacMedics that I just had to take a moment out of a very hectic day to let you know...you have a Mac then MacMedics is where you need to be.

MacMedics is terrific. All the staff: Dana-Jason-Tinika are really helpful/knowledgeable/patient. They can do anything/all that an Apple Store can do, but they know so much more. I took in my ancient-one of the first I-Macs and they removed the old drive/loaded that plus all what I wanted into my new I-Mac. I even purchased Apple Care. I can't say enough about how good the customer service is. Grade? A+. A definite recommend.

All we can say is WOW. This is the fourth experience I've had with the business over the past ten years...all were great. Dana and his staff were more than helpful in assisting me with the purchase of another computer recently. Not only did they assure I received all the applications and functionality I needed, but they were very careful to let me know what I DIDN'T require to meet my needs...therefore saving me a considerable sum. I wouldn't deal with any other sales or service facility.

Dana, Matt, and the gang over at Mac Medics took great care of me. They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Macs, Drobos, or whatever your computer needs may be. From this point forward, I'll only go into the Apple Store to kill time while my wife shops. After my experience with MM, I wouldn't trust my computer to anyone else.

These folks are great! MacMedics' experts don't sleep until they solve your Macintosh problems (not that there are a ton of Mac problems)! I've purchased computers and peripherals from them and have benefitted from their encyclopedic knowledge of hardware and software--including PC/DOS software that runs on a virtual PC they set up on my Mac Pro. So, if you wannabe a Mac user, or are already are, frankly, you can't go wrong by relying on the experts, their cheerful advice, and dogged determination to excel at MacMedics!

While on tour with my band, the LCD screen on my MacBook was crushed while stowed in our van. We were only in Maryland for 48 hours, but Dana and his team showed some great hospitality by fixing the screen within a few hours, and saving me the $500 more the Apple store wanted to charge me. I am very grateful for their excellent customer service and will be sending them my machine if it has any future problems.
