Another 5 Star Review For MacMedics As Result Of Apple Warranty Service

without comments

As Apple quickly picks up more and more dedicated Apple users, the Apple Store and their retail service offerings are frequently overloaded. MacMedics is often able to complete Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare repairs in as little as 24 hours. See our posting on this topic here.

In the meantime we continue to collect excellent reviews from the anonymous Apple Service surveys as well as from Google and Yelp.

Here’s our most recent review from our client, Evan:

“I Had the toplid of my MacBook Pro replaced under warranty. Was effortless, they diagnosed it properly and gave me the time of day. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating and the store was near empty, which is a welcome change from the busy and annoying Apple Stores and their notorious “Genius” Bar service in the back. Highly recommended!‎”

Unbelievably Awesome AppleCare And Apple Warranty Client Reviews For MacMedics

with 4 comments

As Apple Authorized Service Providers, we perform quite a number of Macintosh warranty repairs on behalf of Apple’s customers. We also do so for many of our own customers whom have purchased their Apple gear from MacMedics.

Over the last six months or so, our Apple service business has basically doubled. The Apple Stores in the area are so overwhelmed; many Apple owners are finding out that there is an alternative to making an appointment or waiting around in the mall for a face-to-face with a Genius at the Genius Bar. See our recently updated Blog post on why it makes sense to come visit MacMedics in either Lanham (1 mile from I-495 at RT 50) or Millersville (5 minutes from BWI Airport or 10 minutes form the Annapolis Mall)

When we perform an Apple Warranty or AppleCare repair for someone, Apple sends them a survey to ask how well we performed the service on Apple’s behalf.

Apple then forwards these remarks and the accompanying scores to us with the idea that they will help improve our service.

In the latest round feedback from Apple, these anonymous comments praise MacMedics in such a level of detail it almost looks like we wrote them ourselves.

These are direct from Apple, and we’d like to thank our loyal customers for supporting us. THANKS!

New MacMedics Testimonial

We’d like to thank one of our loyal clients for posting this review:

“I’ve been dealing with Dana and his crew for over 10 years. All of my experiences have been excellent. I recently purchased another computer from them. Not only did they take time to determine exactly what applications and functionality I required, but went out of their way to assure I DID NOT purchase programming I did not require…thus saving me a considerable sum. When it comes to Mac…these are the only people I will deal with. Courteous, patient, informative, knowledgeable and honest…I couldn’t ask for better service‎”

We have many clients who have been coming to us for years. This client bought a G3 iMac from us over ten years ago for $1200, he ended up replacing it with a 21.5″ Intel iMac for $1199. I think he got his money’s worth out of the G3! The G3 iMac died, so he brought that by for us to recycle for him.

One Of Baltimore’s Best DJ’s, DJ PHAZE Gives MacMedics A Shout Out For Saving His Liquid Damaged MacBook

with 2 comments

We’ve done work for DJ PHAZE a few times before, but most recently we saved his MacBook from a really bad water spill. He sent us this nice note to thank us.

“Hey this is the One and Only, DJ PHAZE from Baltimore. Let me tell you a quick thing or two about the folks at MacMedics… As a Serato DJ my MacBooks are the heart of my operation. Without them… um how about we not even finish that sentence?

I’ve had few mishaps with my MacBooks, which required the professional attention by an Authorized Apple Service Provider. I’m constantly using my MacBook for gigs or recording, so a day without my “Purple Rain” (Name of MacBook) amounts to a major loss all around. Add to that my impatience and you got a fazed out PHAZE. Because of my impatience I prefer to not deal with the Apple Store experience (shouts to the Geniuses). Thankfully MacMedics has a great team who attends to my impromptu issues with expedience and understanding. Just before my departure for an out of town gig, I had water spilled into my MacBook recently and fearing the absolute worst, I woefully took “Purple Rain” to MacMedics’ “Shock Trauma” Center in Millersville, MD. The Medics too were expecting a grim outlook as the checked my MacBook in, but optimistically took on the task of complete disassembly and diagnosis.

They charged a small fee of $99 to assess the damage and even offered a loaner Mac at a flat rate for the duration of the repair! Not only was my computer being worked on, I also was able to continue business as usual! Turn around time was short considering MacMedics’ complete disassembly of my unit for thorough drying and diagnostics. They actually got the job 24hrs before the estimated date quoted (yeah, I was counting the hrs.). The Medics took the time to explain everything they did to treat my sick MacBook and showed genuine sensitivity to my plight.

It was practically Christmas all over again in April when I got the call that my “Purple Rain” was working after near death by drowning. This was the second save by MacMedics. I definitely trust the Medics with any of my Mac needs. Not only do they service Apple products, but also they are an Authorized Apple Reseller complete with most of the accessories you may need. So if you need the ER treatment for your sick Apple, MacMedics is the only way to go in DMV area. BTW, they also make house calls!

Thank you to Matt, Tinika, and Dana for taking care of my MacBook woes. “

MacMedics Earns A New Fan By Rescuing A Do-It-Yourself (DIY) iPhone Repair That Did Not Go So Well

without comments

This Blog post has been reprinted by permission from The Forge Flyer from Baltimore

“I dropped my iPhone recently and the front glass cracked in about 25 places. But it was still usable. Price for to get it fixed at the Apple store: $200. Which is what I paid for the phone in the first place (well, my employer paid for it). Also, you have to make an appointment just to drop off your broken item at the Apple store in Towson. That seems a little weird to me.

So I ordered a kit from Amazon for $17 to fix it. That didn’t go so well (I couldn’t get all the screws out and then I couldn’t get it back together correctly) so I called MacMedics down by BWI. Normally it would have been about $90 to fix it but because I already had the new glass and the digitizer, they only charged me $49. And they fixed it the same day. Yay!

My MacBook froze up and started beeping at me at about the same time and luckily it was still under the extended warranty and Apple fixed it well, so no complaints there. ”

MacMedics Announces New Lower Prices For Same-Day iPhone 3G and 3G S Glass/Digitizer Service

iPhone 3G Glass/Digitizer Repair $89.95
iPhone 3G S Glass/Digitizer Repair $99.95

You can drop your iPhone 3G or 3G S off by 10:00 AM and we’ll most likely be able to have it ready for pick up by 4:00 PM. We also offer flat-rate $10 FedEx Ground shipping if you’d like to have your iPhone shipped back to you (We also have low-cost FedEx Express shipping options if you want your iPhone back quicker! We’re also happy to to use your FedEx account number and ship back via the FedEx service of your choice)

iPhone repairs are super popular and tons of sellers of Do-It-Yourself iPhone parts, tools, supplies, and videos have come out of the woodwork.

There are three huge things to consider:

1. Is the part you are buying the correct part for your unit AND is it a “real” part? Many sellers from eBay and Craigslist are selling “High Copy” parts, which are usually far inferior in quality.

2. How much is the final price when you tally up the part, the tools, the adhesive kit, the shipping, and your time, how much does that really cost? Usually it’s pretty close to what you’d pay at a reputable service provider like MacMedics. Also, don’t forget that MacMedics covers any part we install into your iPhone with our 1-year no-hassle warranty.

3. If you “do it yourself” you’re undertaking the risk of damaging or destroying your iPhone. The people that make the videos are usually the same people selling the iPhone service parts, and they make it look super easy in the video. Why? They want you to think it IS easy so you buy the part from them. Also don’t forget that internal parts of an iPhone are very delicate and sensitive to static. We know this and take every precaution in our Apple inspected Mac Lab.

We’ve blogged about iPhone repairs many times before. So you can read our past posts here.

Review: MacMedics’ Experts Don’t Sleep Until They Solve Your Macintosh Problems!

without comments

It’s not hard to see that the crew here at MacMedics love what they do. Here’s another review that just popped up. The reviewer is correct, we really don’t sleep until we have the problem solved.

“These folks are great! MacMedics’ experts don’t sleep until they solve your Macintosh problems (not that there are a ton of Mac problems)! I’ve purchased computers and peripherals from MacMedics and have benefitted from their encyclopedic knowledge of hardware and software–including PC/DOS software that runs on a virtual PC they set up on my Mac Pro. So, if you wannabe a Mac user, or are already are, frankly, you can’t go wrong by relying on the experts, their cheerful advice, and dogged determination to excel at MacMedics!

Thanks, again,

Scott”

Once Again, MacMedics To The Data Recovery Rescue

without comments

A new client in our Washington DC office, brought us a MacBook that had a dying hard drive. He needed the data, so Mike H, one of the talented MacMedics in Lanham was able to recover it all.

Folks, this would be so much easier if everyone had data back ups. I promise you that even without countless “Data Recovery” cases coming in every day, we’ll still be able to stay in business. If you don’t have a tested, working, and automatic backup working for, it’s TIME to get one. We can help if you need guidance.

If you have a back up, then test it, and please consider a clone back up and an off-site back up to boot. You can never have TOO MANY back ups.

Our client in Washington DC sent this:

“Dear Mr Stibolt

I want to let you know that I received excellent service from Mike at your DC location near Bowie, Maryland. My MacBook was very ‘sick’ and Mike helped repair it, and save my data

I will surely recommend MacMedics to friends and family…

Best regards,

Steven S.”

New Review: MacMedics Delivers On Excellent Customer Service Again. (It’s Kinda’ Our Thing!)

Another review for MacMedics:

MacMedics, Millersville, MD‎
By KT – Jan 1, 2010

“After purchasing her iMac at the Apple Store, my mother’s computer had some problems. We took it back to the Apple Store and they diagnosed a failed hard drive and replaced it. One week later the same problems were occurring. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of going back to the Apple Store in the mall where we had to drag the computer through the parking lot and then through the shoppers inside. We decided to take it to MacMedics and we were pleasantly surprised with the professional, efficient and fast service. The location in Millersville, MD is convenient and the parking is right in front of the facility. When my husband and I started having problems with our own computers we decided to go back to MacMedics. Everyone we dealt with is knowledgeable, professional and dedicated to giving the best customer service and positive experience. After diagnosing the problems, it was determined our older laptops were at the end of their life cycles. We made the decision to purchase our new iMac from MacMedics rather than going to the Apple Store or ordering online. The computer arrived quickly after ordering and when we went to pick it up we were able to see the unit we were purchasing. Also, the data from our old computer was migrated to the new computer. While there, we were able to ask questions and we were given an overview of the new system. That is old fashioned customer service and my husband and I highly recommend their repair service but also their sales service. They are easy to deal with and go out of their way to give customer satisfaction. An additional service they provide is to recycle older/broken Macs and parts. MacMedics is a valuable local business for Mac users.”

More client accolades for MacMedics Washington DC

without comments

One of our MacMedics Washington DC clients just submitted this review for MacMedics:

“My Procedure: Installs of 8GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive in a MacBook Pro 13″ about a month ago.

Comments: Wow, this system has been flying since the upgrades! I run Parallels with Windows 7, 64-bit, in Crystal Mode. Even with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Visio, and Project running in Windows (which is a pretty heavy load), the experience is incredible.

I looked one day and found that I had started about 20 programs between the Mac environment and the Windows environment without a problem. Before the upgrades, both environments were sluggish and jerky, with just a few programs running in each. Now that each has 4GB RAM allocated, they both are wonderful!

I have set up Parallels to start the Windows environment when booting the Mac and just leave Parallels running. I’ve had no problems with speed or crashes in either the OS X environment or in the Windows environment.

MacMedics in Lanham, Maryland did an excellent upgrade. They were fast (I got the system back the next day) and quite reasonably priced for what I got.

I highly recommend you visit them for anything Apple-related!”
