Is your iPod "sick"?
Does your iPod battery only last a few minutes or won't take a charge at all?
Is your iPod screen/LCD cracked or broken?
Has your trusty iPod taken a spill? Is your iPod having problems keeping a charge? Hard drive making clicking sounds or not making sounds at all? Don't worry; ipodmedics.com [a division of MacMedics] knows how to fix broken and sick iPods.
Are you looking for honest service information about your broken, sick, or non-working Apple iPod? If you're still making up your mind on where to take your iPod for service, or if you're just trying to figure out if you should replace it or not, let ipodmedics.com give you some free advice and solid facts on your unit's situation. In most cases iPods are worth fixing, but if yours is not, we'll let you know and point you in the direction of a new one. We often have tips on where to snag the best deal on a new or "refurb" iPod. If your iPod is too far gone to fix, we'll buy your sick or broken ipod on the spot. Prices are variable, but we always pay more than Apple will offer you on trade in (usually at least $10 more). Before you read this page, or look elsewhere, please read our 10-point "Bill of iPod Repair Rights". Thanks for checking us out, and if you have any questions just zing us an e-mail.
Dana Stibolt, President and Founder of ipodmedics.com & MacMedics
ipodmedics.com Client Bill of Rights:
1. When you ship us your iPod we'll perform a free diagnostic and offer our expert opinion on your broken or sick iPod. For iPods that are hand-carried to our shop for repair, we do charge a $10 diagnostic that will be applied towards your final bill if you choose to have your iPod repaired.
2. Free return shipping on all mailed-in iPod repairs via DHL. We'll send you a tracking number when your repair is on it's way back to you.
3. We perform same day repairs whenever possible. We try to keep all iPod parts and batteries in stock at all times.
4. We responsibly recycle all dead iPod parts.
5. We only use RoHS compliant Sonnet replacement batteries.
6. We'll do whatever we can to preserve your music while your iPod is being repaired. Most repairs have no effect on the music and other data stored on your iPod. If you have irreplaceable data on your iPod we do offer iPod data recovery and back-up services.
7. We're a real Macintosh and iPod repair shop, so when your iPod reaches us, you'll be drawing on our 200+ years of repair expertise. We're always reachable via e-mail, so if you have a question about your situation just hit us at this e-mail address: Click here to send us an e-mail right now!
8. No random part swapping! We won't put a part in your iPod unless it really needs it. We double test all repairs to ensure we've replaced the correct part, and it's not just a loose cable or something silly.
9. Too busy to take your iPod to the post office or not near a one? We'll e-mail you a pre-paid DHL shipping label to ship your iPod to us (we'll just add $10 to your final bill). You pack it, and drop it any DHL box or give it to any DHL driver. Don't have a box or shipping supplies handy? See the bottom of the page to have us send you a box and shipping label for just $20.
10. If you deicide that your iPod is not worth fixing, and you want to sell it, we'll likely buy it from you. If you have an older broken iPod lying around you don't want to fix, send that along with the one you DO want to fix, and we'll apply it's value to your repair bill. If you've already bought a new iPod, and you want a good price on your broken one, just ping us and we'll e-mail you a pre-paid shipping label, and you can just pack it, and drop it in any DHL box or give it to any DHL driver.

We've been fixing Macs for over 18 years, so you can count on our expert techs to restore your iPod to its former glory. Send your iPod to the company that revolutionized on-site Macintosh service. We take delight in learning WHY your unit has a problem and formulating a repair plan that starts with the basics and works it's way up to actual parts replacement. Just because your iPod is sick, does not necessarily mean you need a new part installed. We'll test your iPod and find out what's wrong with it before we recommend a new part replacement. We thrive on word of mouth referrals, so the less we charge you, the happier you'll be, and hopefully you'll tell your friends about ipodmedics.com.

A iPod repair testimonial
[Note: we fixed this unit for $39]"My 12 year old daughter left her video iPod in her pants pocket where it remained through the beginning of our washing machine's rinse cycle. After hearing the banging noise, we opened the machine to pull out the wet device. Not surprisingly, the iPod no longer worked. We found MacMedics on an Internet search and set out in the skeptical hope that the iPod could be repaired at a reasonable cost. Much to our surprise and delight, MacMedics fixed it quickly and at a fraction of the cost that we (really my daughter, through many months of allowance) would have incurred to replace it. Thanks MacMedics for the repaired iPod and for our continued family harmony!"

"Whack an iPod"
[Note: Don't try this at home.]There is a rumor floating around the Internet that says if your hard drive has failed ala the "click of death" and you've tried all other repair paths, you can "whack" your iPod on a desk or table while it's starting up. MacMedics does not recommend this technique. As far as we can tell it does not work, and is a good way to ruin your chances of a future repair. If you think your hard drive is bad, we can often fix your unit without replacing the hard drive. This means that for our flat fee of $39, you might be back in business with your iPod again. If you think you've got this problem and you want us to take a look, we'll do so at no charge. If we can fix it, you'll just owe $39 plus $8 for shipping. If you don't want to have it serviced, we'll either but it from you "as is" or return it to you for $8 shipping. Call us toll-free [1-866-MAC-MEDICS] for details or e-mail us at ipodservice@macmedics.com

Note Apple's iPod warranty at this link before sending us your iPod. All Apple iPods are born with a 1-year warranty. If an iPod is opened for any reason by anyone other than Apple, the warranty is null and void. If the screen on your iPod is broken, chances are your warranty is already void. We've also heard that Apple will often void an iPod warranty if there are dents or any sign of abuse. See Apple's FAQ page for more info. If you have questions, please call us at 410-987-8588.
