It was Memorial Day weekend (Friday) and one of our Macs at THE LAND of KUSH vegan restaurant in Baltimore went haywire. The software wouldn't launch. We kept seeing a spinning circle but no progress. After running HD diag and determining that there was possibly something wrong with the HD, we debated between going to the Apple store and purchasing a new one or seeking out other alternatives. Second is the depth of knowledge of the team. More than once, I have requested something specifically, only to have the Mac Medics team suggest something that turned out to a better option, and often less expensive. Third is the straightforwardness and transparency of the work. When I drop off my machine, I get a call back that lays out the findings, the options, the cost and the estimated time to completion, and that is exactly what transpires; no hidden costs at pick up time.
Fourth is the thoroughness of the work. In 2008, my 17” MBP’s motherboard died. I received a call back on the repair work, and a Mac Medics staff member asked if the machine had been exposed to smoke, as this might be related to its current status. I had forgot that about 18 months prior, I had had one of the infamous Sony exploding batteries, and there was smoke associated with the event. Mac Medics suggested that, although they could do the necessary repair, I should talk to Apple, which I did and they (Apple) effectively replaced the entire machine (except the keyboard). Mac Medics’ approach demonstrated both thoroughness and integrity.
Then, there is the speed. The rate limiting step to any job I have requested is getting a part onsite. The turnaround time for even the most difficult jobs is brisk, which underscores that my time is valuable as well.
More than anything else, however, is trust. I appreciate that Mac Medics is authorised to service Apple products, stands by their work, and will re-service a job if it remains under warranty.

Rashada Design"In October 2008, my hard drive died in my iBook G4. I went to Mac Medics after reading up on them and finding them to be the most reliable Mac repair shop in the area. I brought my iBook in to the shop for repairs but it was going to take longer than I wanted to wait because I was in a rush to get back to work. Against my better judgment, I opted to take my iBook to the country's largest electronics and media retailer instead. To make a long story short, they destroyed my laptop and refused to accept responsibility for it. I went back to Mac Medics to get a diagnostic (which they did for free!) and was told it would make more sense to buy a new laptop than to fix the old one due to the damage that was done. So at their advice, I took the retailer to small claims court armed with an arsenal of evidence provided to me by Mac Medics to help substantiate my case. Several months later, the retailer decided to settle out court rather than face a losing court case. What makes this experience that started off as horrible one into one that I look back and be positive about is that Dana and his Mac Medics staff assisted me in my case when they had no legal obligations to do. To help me out when I was in a particular bad spot without asking anything in return is something that speaks volumes about this company. Suzanna B."I found myself leaving another Apple Authorized Service Provider in tears (an understatement) without any hard facts about my problem or my data. All I encountered at this store was discouragement (and condescension for not backing up my data more often). The staff at this store basically told me they couldn't help me (unless I incurred a very high cost, but even then they couldn't guarantee anything), and the price to recover my data would be anywhere from like $500 to $1500. I didn't need "warm and fuzzy" or sympathy, but they were VERY sarcastic and generally harsh (and it turns out, not even painting a realistic picture of the situation) when I was obviously upset, as my data was something of great value to me that I thought I lost forever. And then I walked in MacMedics. What a difference! I knew immediately that even if you could not restore the data from the dead hard drive, that you would give it your very best shot. Your friendly and helpful staff immediately assured me that your company could replace the hard drive free of charge (under warranty). You made a computer/technology-phobic feel absolutely comfortable, even though you couldn't guarantee a successful data recovery outcome. Ultimately, though, you replaced my hard drive with a brand new one, and saved all of my data for a very low price of $139. THANK YOU!"
AS Graphics"I was in the middle of a project when my computer froze. After restarting, my secondary hard drive was no longer visible. Panic set in because all of my current projects were located on that drive and two of those were ready to go to press on that same day. My greatest fear was the complete loss of all the data and the repercussions of the loss. I contacted Mac Medics and explained the situation. I chose to drop off my CPU at their office and later that afternoon I received a call informing me that they were successful in recovering all my data.
